Two ways silicone cures
Liquid silicone becomes solid through either addition curing (catalysed by platinum) or condensation curing (catalysed by tin). Silicone made with platinum catalysts shrinks less, releases fewer by-products and stays stable longer.
What that means for a doll
Platinum-cured bodies hold their shape and dimensions better, have very low odour and are less likely to become brittle with age. For something you'll handle and keep for years, it's the preferred choice — and a key reason silicone beats TPE on longevity.
